XANEXX (HEXA/SCOPÁVIK) (KR)

한국의 짧은 전자 음악 문화 속에서, Xanexx는 2008년부터 서울을 기반으로 DJ/프로듀서로 활동해왔다. 그는 자신을 Xanexx(자넥스)라고 지칭하면서부터 이전의 The Riotz 활동과 구분되는 테크노 음악 작업에 집중하기 시작했다. 이후 그는 ‘Hexa Records’라는 레이블을 설립하고, ‘Grenzsituation’ EP를 발매하여 테크노에 깊이 뿌리를 두는 음악적 자아를 선보였다. 또한 그는 서울 최초의 테크노 클럽인 ‘Vurt’의 레지던트 DJ로 활동하였으며, 그 기간동안 한국 테크노의 공연예술적 위치를 확립했다. Vurt에서 독립한 이후 그는 여전히 서울의 다양한 클럽과 축제를 놓치지 않는 DJ로 한국의 테크노 씬을 대표하고 있다. Xanexx는 한국의 대표적인 테크노 레이블/팟캐스트인 SCOPIVIK에서 Refracted, Evigt Mörker, Pharaoh & Yogg, 그리고 Pris와 같은 딥 테크노 아티스트들의 리믹스가 포함된 EP를 발매했다. 또한, 2022년에 ‘Alpha Range’ 정규 앨범을 발매함으로써 그만의 독특한 사운드 디자인 작업을 보여주었다. 그가 디제잉과 음악에서 표현하는 소리는 정확한 척도를 표현하기보다는 비어있는 공간을 채우는 확장된 역할로 작용한다. 사운드 속 각 불협화음적 요소는 공간을 창조하고 해방하는 존재감을 만들어 낸다. 그리고 마침내 그의 사운드는 춤에 국한되지 않고 독창적인 감정과 감각의 경험을 심어준다.

In Korea's short electronic music culture, Xanexx has been a DJ and producer in the electronic music industry in Seoul since 2008. After he decided to present himself as 'Xanexx', he began to focus on techno music. This led him to establish the label "Hexa Records" and to release EP Grenzsituation to out his techno works. Also he was a resident DJ of the solid techno club in Seoul, Vurt. He is still a DJ who does not miss various clubs and festivals in Seoul. Xanexx is a representative techno label/podcast in Korea, SCOPIVIK, which includes Refracted, Evigt Mörker, Pharaoh & Yogg, and Pris. He released another EP that included remixes of Deep Techno artists. He showed his solid sound arrangement by releasing the Alpha Range full length album in 2022. The sounds he articulate act more as a extended role filling unoccupied space, rather expressing accurate scales. Each element of sounds creates space releasing presence, falling into place one another without reference to its dissoant meaning. And it inculcates experience of original sentiment and sense, not the prevalent one.
